FARMINGTON — Beverly I. Pond, 81, a former resident of Livermore Falls, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, Sept. 10, at Orchard Park Nursing Home in Farmington, where she had resided for the past several years.

She was born on Jan. 22, 1930, in Jamaica Plains, Mass., the daughter of Laurence Iott and Nellie (Resser) Dorey. She was salutatorian of her graduating class of 1948 at Livermore Falls High School. Following graduation she attended Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, Mass.

On March 28, 1953, at the Nazarene Church in Livermore Falls, she married her husband of 39 years, C. Frank Pond. He passed away Dec. 7, 1992.

Beverly worked in the data processing department at International Paper Co. for 25 years, retiring in 1989.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church and choir of Livermore Falls; and the Frank L. Mitchell VFW Women’s Auxiliary in Jay. Beverly enjoyed crafts and cooking. She was an exceptionally kind person and especially enjoyed cooking and caring for her friends and neighbors who were confined to their homes.

She is survived by her two sons, Douglas Pond and his wife, Nancy, of Farmington, and Randall Pond of Auburn; her daughter, Mary Nelson and her husband, Donald “Skip,” of Farmington; six grandchildren, David, Lisa, Kim, Katie, Chris and Andrew; and seven great-grandchildren, Ashley, Ashlynn, Deven, Abby, Elizabeth, Benjamin and Meghan.
