LEWISTON — A Mass of Christian Burial honoring the life of Laurette Dube was celebrated Saturday morning by the Monsignor Marc Caron at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul of the Prince of Peace Parish. At the entrance of church, Laurette’s children, Arlene Thomas and Kenneth Dube, draped their mother’s casket with the burial pall that signified her baptism into a new life with God. During Mass, Laurette’s granndaughter, Valarie Dube, proclaimed an Old Testament reading, and granddaughter Michelle Pedrosa proclaimed a New Testament reading. The Prayer of the Faithful was recited by grandson, James Thomas III, and the offertory gifts were brought to the altar by Laurette’s great-grandsons, Jay Dube and Steven Thomas. Words of remembrance were shared at the conclusion of Mass by granddaughter, Kim Rutland. Following a procession to St. Peter’s Cemetery, Monsignor Caron recited committal prayers at St. Peter’s Cemetery Chapel. The pallbearers were Jim, John, and Chad Thomas, as well as Mario Meerheim, Humbarto Pedrrosa, Lamar Rutland and Angelina Thomas. At the conclusion of services, all in attendance were invited to a reception of fellowship at the Ramada Inn in Lewiston. Arrangements by the Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home.
