AUBURN — Central Maine Community College President Scott Knapp announces the following faculty appointments: Kevin Hanlon, instructor in architectural and civil engineering technology; Caroline Jordan, instructor in business administration and management; and Ann M. Sylvester, nursing instructor.
A native of Lisbon where he currently resides, Hanlon has been an adjunct instructor for the math and science departments at CMCC since 1997. He earned an associate degree in architectural and civil engineering from CMCC and a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from the University of Maine. He holds a professional engineer license in the state of Maine and is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers. He was employed for 10 years as a civil engineer for the Maine Department of Transportation, and has also worked as a structural designer for Bath Iron Works and a project manager for a highway and earthwork general contractor.
Jordan has earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration from the University of Maine at Machias and Husson University, respectively. She is the owner of two small businesses: Church Mouse Publishing and The Jordan Result, a consulting practice focusing on helping small business owners solve cash flow problems. A published author, Jordan has written two books for small business owners and has also co-authored two children’s books. She lives in her hometown of Bridgton.
Sylvester earned her associate degree in nursing at the University of Maine at Augusta, her baccalaureate in nursing (summa cum laude) at USM, and her master of science in nursing from the University of Maine. She has worked in a variety of clinical settings and has 13 years of experience teaching at all levels of an associate degree nursing program. She holds a national certification in inpatient obstetric nursing, is certified in neonatal advanced life support, and is a basic cardiac life support instructor. She is also co-owner of Royal Criations Alpacas, a company that raises huacaya alpacas.
