The Tri-Town Optimist Club of Mechanic Falls, Minot and Poland has named its latest Regional School Unit 16 student of the month.
Sixth grader Aurora Sands from Poland Community School was recognized Nov. 2 as the Optimist Student of the Month for October.
Sands, of Poland, is described by her teacher and principal as a student leader who always models the school code of conduct. She consistently puts forth her best effort and has a positive outlook.
