BRUNSWICK — Senior center forward Heather Verrier scored the game’s lone goal to lift Oxford Hills to a 1-0 victory over Brunswick in KVAC field hockey action Tuesday.

The Vikings (2-2-1) put the only point on the board when Verrier received a pass and deflected the ball into the back of the net.

Goalie Sydney Escoe made six saves for the Dragons, while goalies Abi Egan and Shannon Fillebrown combined for 11 saves for Oxford Hills in the winning effort.

Lake Region 3, Gray-NG 0

GRAY — Alice Sanborn scored a pair of goals and Chelsea Murch topped off Lake Region’s 3-0 field hockey victory over Gray-New Gloucester with her goal Tuesday afternoon.

Sanborn scored back-to-back goals in the first half and Murch dropped one in the second half.

The Lakers outshout Gray 15-0 and their goalie, Shannon Vanlean, didn’t have to make a save.

Soccer

Brunswick 3, Edward Little 0
AUBURN — Dakota Foster scored a goal and added two assists to lead Brunswick to a 3-0 victory over Edward Little in KVAC girl’s soccer action Tuesday.

Anna Cowan and Becky Champagne also tallied for the Dragons (4-0) to complete the scoring.

Lauren Pacher needed only two saves to notch the shutout, while Taylor Landry and Molly Murray combined for eight saves for the Red Eddies (0-1-1).

Winslow 4, Leavitt 1

WINSLOW — Autumn Poulin and Pilar Elias took turns scoring goals as Winslow floated past Leavitt with a 4-1 victory in a girls’ soccer game Tuesday.

Poulin scored her first of two goals in the first half, giving Winslow a 1-0 lead. But Leavitt’s Emily Perkins responded with her unassisted goal on a rebound to tie the game.

But Poulin put Winslow ahead again with her second goal and Elias punched in back-to-back goals to give Winslow a three-goal cushion.

Leavitt outshot Winslow 13-12 and held the advantage in corners at 4-3.

Mt. Blue 4, Skowhegan 0
SKOWHEGAN — Mackenzie Conlogue netted a pair of goals and added an assist to lead Mt. Blue to a 4-0 win over Skowhegan in a KVAC girl’s soccer tilt Tuesday.

Rachel Karno and Zyrah Giustra also tallied for the Cougars (2-1), while Marina West contributed with an assist.

Gabby Foy and Thea Bridges combined for two saves to record the shutout. Andrea Quirion was busy in net for Skowhegan (0-3), turning aside 14 shots in the contest.

Maranacook 2, Oak Hill 0
READFIELD — The Maranacook girls’ soccer squad managed a goal in each half, coming away with a crisp 2-0 victory over Oak Hill in more KVAC action Tuesday.

Sage Hyland and Sydney Gilbert each tallied for the Black Bears (2-1-1), while Elizabeth D’Angelo made four saves to record the shutout.

Desiree Johns handled netkeeping chores for the Raiders (1-2-1), turning back nine shots in the game.

Mt. Ararat 1, Oxford Hills 1
PARIS — Mikayla Morin netted a goal just 10 minutes into the second half to give Oxford Hills a 1-1 draw against Mt. Ararat in another KVAC girl’s soccer matchup Tuesday.

Chelsea Crawford was credited with a goal for the Eagles (1-1-1) thanks to a direct kick blast with 29:14 remaining in the first half. 

Mt. Ararat’s Hannah Hauser and Shauna Williams combined for five saves, while Breanna Martin turned aside 10 shots for the Vikings (1-1-1).
