WEST PARIS — Two people were sent to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after a two-vehicle head-on crash near 52 Bethel Road on Saturday morning, according to a news release from the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office.
Eric Cole, 43, of Norway was operating his white 2011 Hyundai just before 7:30 a.m. when the car crossed the centerline and struck a gray 2017 Hyundai driven by Heidi Kokkola, 52, of Bryant Pond.
Cole and Kokkola were transported to local hospitals with “serious life-threatening injuries,” according to the statement.
Three Oxford County Sheriff’s deputies initially responded to the crash. Paris Police Department and local fire departments assisted.
Bethel Road, also known as Route 26, was shut down for investigation. The road reopened around 10:30 a.m., according to Oxford County dispatchers.
