Germaine Rioux

LEWISTON – Germaine Rioux passed away peacefully in her home on Nov. 13, 2023. She was born on Nov 25, 1927 to Thomas and Alice Pelletier.

On July 21, 1947 she married Willie Rioux. They were married for 57 years until he passed in 2005. They lived many years on Hogan Road in Lewiston where together they raised their seven children.

On Feb. 15, 1976 she was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and was an active member of the Lewiston Congregation until her death. She enjoyed her study of the scriptures, and sharing her bible based hope in her local community. She also enjoyed knitting, and going to lunch with her children.

She is survived by five sons and one daughter, Phil and Carmen Rioux, Jean and David Hall, Michael and Susan Rioux, Mark Rioux, Denis and Debbie Rioux, Steve and Ann Rioux; as well as 14 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Willie Rioux; her son William Rioux; and grandson Benjamin Rioux.

The Rioux family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at St. Mary’s Residences, where she lived the last 15 years of her life.

A service will be held in honor of Germaine at the Lewiston Kingdom Hall on 721 Webster Street in Lewiston on Dec. 2 at 3 p.m.
