WATERFORD — George H. Williams, 82, of Waterford, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 13, at his residence.
He was born in Talmadge, June 30, 1929, to Howard and Vivian (Green) Williams. George served his country proudly in the U.S. Air Force, stationed in Germany during the Korean Conflict.
He worked for the Tannery in Norway for several years, for Midas as an auto technician and in construction before retiring.
He was a lifetime member of the American Legion and the North American Fishing Club. He loved to bowl and won several trophies on the bowling league and also loved to fish.
He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Norma (Stanley); stepsons, John Suomela of South Paris and Scott Murray of South Hiram; stepdaughters, Trudy Keyser of Maui, Hawaii, Kate Davis of North Hampton, N.H., and Christine McNulty of East Parsonsfield; granddaughter, Kristen Suomela of Tyngsboro, Mass.; several stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren; nephew, Russell Williams; three nieces, Penny Williams, Holly Collins and Wendy Roberts; and sister-in-law, Jean Williams.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Vaughn and Ronald.
