PARIS — The annual Christmas open house at the Responsible Pet Care Shelter and Adoption Center will be held on Dec. 9 and 10 from noon to 4 p.m. The shelter is festively decorated and holiday excitement is in the air with both canine and feline tails a waggin’.
We welcome visitors and donations for the animals to be placed on and under the giving tree. There are many animals waiting to be adopted this Christmas. Donations are crucial to support the shelter to bring joy, comfort, and specialized medical care necessary to the 175-plus animals that currently are with us awaiting their forever homes.
The shelter location is 9 Swallow Road, off High Street in south Paris. We hope to see you. For more information, call 743-8679.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
