The town of Paris Parks & Recreation Department is expanding its programs for all ages to offer new, entertaining and enriching activities and events in 2024. The new person leading up the recreation department, KC Christensen, looks to hear from many locals, especially isolated seniors, who want to get out of the house and make positive connections.

Since Oxford Hills individuals and families are asking for more programs during the winter, the recreation department has just kicked off a pickleball program with more than 200 people interested, according to a news release from Christensen.

Line dancing, family yoga, painting, martial arts, trivia night, karaoke, dog training, ceramics, crafts, circus arts and game nights are being scheduled. Later in the spring and summer, baseball, softball, tie dye, nature classes, special events, and free summer Concerts in the Park also are in the mix.

To learn more or register for a program and for more information, visit the Parks & Recreation Committee Facebook page.

In order to engage the community and support local businesses, Christensen hopes to hear from people with class ideas and referrals for quality instructors, businesses and band referrals.

For more information, email rec@parismaine.org or call the recreation department at 207-743-2501, ext. 8.
