PERU – Julia Hall, 41, passed away with her loving family by her side, at her parents’ home on Thursday Jan. 11, 2024, after a long battle with cancer. She was a resident of Baltimore, Md.
Born in Lewiston, on Sept. 23, 1982, she was the daughter of Joseph and Becky (Knowles) Hall. Julia was the salutatorian graduate of the Mountain Valley High School class of 2000; a summa cum laude graduate of the University of Maine, Orono with a bachelor’s in Journalism and French; and a graduate of Emerson College in Boston with a master’s degree in Publishing and Writing in 2006. She worked as a marketing director for W.W. Norton publishing, located in New York, N.Y.
Julia was a member of the Baltimore Improv Group, where she was a performer and teacher. She loved to travel and spent a year studying abroad while in college, as well as spending a year in the south of France teaching students the English language. Julia was also an avid reader, and enjoyed sharing her love of books through her podcast, “What You Should Read,” which she hosted with her sister Rachael and her dear friend, Kelly Hager.
Julia is survived by her partner Dorian Gray of Baltimore; her parents, Joseph and Becky Hall of Peru; a brother Lenny Hall and wife Karri of Mexico; a sister Rachael Hall and husband William Hamilton of Lisbon; nephews Gabriel, Greyson, and Ryan Hall; and bonus sisters, Ashley (Hall) Mitchell, and Kassie (Merrill) Olver, and several cousins near and dear to her heart who lovingly referred to her as “Head Cousin”.

Celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m., Sunday January 21, at 49 Franklin St., Rumford. Interment will take place in the Spring at the Demerritt Cemetery.
