PORTLAND — Ella C. Gagnon, 92, a resident of Windham and formerly of Lewiston, died Sunday, Sept. 18, at St. Joseph’s Manor.
She was born in Lewiston, Nov. 28, 1918, the daughter of Elmer and Marion (Anctil) Greenleaf. She was a graduate of Lewiston High School and was employed as a stitcher for many years in the local shoe industry.
She had married Denis R. Gagnon on Aug. 17, 1946; he died in February 1978.
Ella had resided with her husband on Jepson Avenue in Lewiston until they built a home at Tacoma Lake in Monmouth. Following her husband’s death, she had moved to Leesburg, Fla., where she lived for 26 years. Then she moved to Odenton, Md., for six years, before moving back to Maine.
She is survived by her nephew, Gerald Bryant and his wife, Donna, of Windham; her great-nephew, Michael Bryant and his wife, Donna, of Wexford, Pa.; her great-niece, Deborah Goold and her husband, Jerrett, of Westbrook; and a great-great-niece, Maeve Bryant of Wexford, Pa.
