We had a half-dozen incorrect answers for last week’s Mystery Photo, ranging from a location in Bar Harbor to the Woman’s Literary Union in Auburn. However, we also received numerous correct answers, many from our longtime loyal entrants including Jack Clifford, who had no trouble identifying it. He told us it was built for his great-grandparents at 460 Main St. in Lewiston, where he spent a lot of time while growing up. Other correct entrants cited historical data about the Clifford House, which was built in 1901 and designed by George M. Coombs, a prominent architect responsible for many Queen Anne/Georgian-style buildings in town. Some readers also mentioned the ornate carved oak stairway in the entryway of the building. The former residence has been turned into offices. In a random drawing from all the correct answers, Camden Jalbert of Lewiston was picked as the winner of a $25 Hannaford Supermarket gift card.
