BUCKFIELD — A fire that destroyed a garage at 52 Irish Hill Road on Monday is under investigation, Turner Fire chief Nick Merry said.
Buckfield Fire Rescue Deputy Chief Tim Brooks said crews rushed to the scene at 4:08 p.m. to find flames spreading to the house, but crews were able to knock them down before there was serious damage.
Nobody was home at the time and no injuries were reported from fire crews, he said.
Merry confirmed Monday evening that an investigator from the Office of the State Fire Marshall was at the scene to help determine the cause.
Assisting Buckfield Fire Rescue were crews from Canton, Hebron, Norway, Paris, Sumner, Turner and West Paris.
