AUBURN — Leslie C. Butterfield, 86, of West Paris, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 27, at the Hospice House in Auburn.

He was born in Harrison to Hugh and Ruth Nason Butterfield on April 6, 1925. He married Hilda Lila Leino on Nov. 29, 1947, and worked for many years at Cummings Mill. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy.

He loved hunting, fishing, drag racing and truck pulling with his son, Dennis. He was also known for having a wonderful sense of humor.

He is survived by his wife, Hilda; son, Dennis Butterfield of Norway; daughter, Donna Butterfield of Hampton Beach; cousins; numerous nieces and nephews; and a grandson, Leslie Trager, of Nashua.
