Worship service

PARIS — The worship leader at the First Universalist Church, 36 Pine St., South Paris, on Sunday, Oct. 2, will be Canon Henry Male. The music at the 10 a.m. service will be lead by Forest Perkins. Renee Wales will direct the Sunday School. Child care is provided. The Coffee Hour will follow in Good Cheer Hall.

Casting for Recovery

FRYEBURG — Bonnie Holding, Master Maine Guide and professional fly casting instructor, will introduce the Casting for Recovery program at the Fryeburg Fair on Monday, Oct. 3, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Holding will greet breast cancer survivors and their families and friends at the Trout Unlimited booth in the Natural Resources Building.

A nationwide program for breast cancer survivors, Casting for Recovery has been in the forefront of helping women move forward in their recovery since 1996. The CFR program “combines counseling, education, medical information and fly-fishing to build a focus on wellness instead of illness and on empowerment as opposed to helplessness.”

Benefit supper

PARIS — The First Baptist Church of Paris on Paris Hill will be the scene of a benefit supper hosted by Zachary Ryerson and Chace Huntly from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8.

All proceeds are going to the Barbara Bush Neonatal Unit at the Maine Medical Center in Portland.

The menu will consist of chowders, desserts and beverages. The cost is $7 for adults and $3.50 for children 12 years old and under.
