LEWISTON — Dorothy J. Perkins of Oxford passed away Sept. 30 at St. Mary’s hospital.

She was born in Oxford Jan. 15, 1916, the daughter of Merle M. and Olive Marcotte Perkins. Dot graduated from Oxford High School in 1935.

She worked for the telephone company for 41 years. She was the chief operator in Norway for 16 years, and retired in 1977. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and the Oxford Historical Society.

She is survived by two sisters, Sarah Perkins and Ina Brown; one brother, Thomas Perkins; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Harrison and Ray Perkins; and three sisters, Ida McMorran, Edith Hunnewell and Elna Marsh.
