I was so pleased with my experience at the Art Walk Lewiston Auburn season finale on Sept. 30 that I felt compelled to write.
The creative community is alive and well here, demonstrated by the many artists sharing their skills to those of us who were there. The music wafting through the streets, the businesses’ open doors with food and drink available to taste, and the many folks interacting as a community.
I saw many people I know, something that does not normally happen on Lisbon Street. The artists were available to share their work. One young man, at Creative Elements, said he was ready to leave town but the art walks, and the support of Creative Elements and other people has made him change his mind.
What pleased me the most is that I purchased a wonderful painting by Grayling Cunningham that will hang in my home, reminding me of the wonderful event that has been created by forward-thinking young people in this community.
I have been telling everyone about my experience. It was a nice change from the events of our time that do not often make one feel positive.
