To the Editor:
This is a belated, but very sincere, thank you to everyone who helped make this summer’s “Mornings at the Museum” a delightful success! For nine consecutive years, we have enjoyed our July Thursday mornings with the children of the Bethel area as we provide simple, often historical, activities for kids.
This year, our amazing adult volunteers and enthusiastic Student Docents guided kids through sewing, art, and painting, practice on log rolling (complete with homemade hobnail shoes!), dressing up, learning about the Moses Mason House, enjoying live music, pick-up sports and lawn games, tours of our current exhibits, and other sporadic and happy activities.
We would also like to acknowledge the many people who have financially supported the program, especially Cassie Mason Realty, Franklin Savings Bank, and Bethel Rotary, who have continued to generously donate to MAM. Thank you to all and we’re already planning Year #10!

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
