JAY — Saturday, Sept. 7, volunteers gathered on the edge of the Androscoggin River off of Foundry Road in Livermore Falls to pick up trash and debris. This annual event was hosted by Androscoggin Land Trust [ALT] and sponsored by Androscoggin Bank, OTIS Federal Credit Union, and PalletOne who sent volunteers to help with the clean up. There were upwards of 40 volunteers present at the event according to Amy Soper, Stewardship Director at ALT. This year there was a lot of work to be done due to the flooding that took place over the last year.

After a successful cleanup, volunteers and community members were invited to French Falls Recreation Area in Jay for the EcoFest Beer Garden event to celebrate. There was a wide variety of craft beers from Ambition Brewing, BBQ, and live music by Matt and the Barnburners.

After that Saturday afternoon, the river was a little cleaner and the community was a little closer.
