Anne Louise Cote
AUBURN – Anne Louise Cote, 88, formerly of Canton, died late Monday evening at Andwell Hospice House in Auburn. She was born in Andover, Feb. 5, 1936, a daughter of Frederick and Edith (Besson) Ellingwood.
Anne graduated from Mexico High School. She continued her education and graduated from the University of Maine at Farmington with a degree in Social Service and worked at the nursing home in Dixfield for many years. She was married to Chester Jordan and he passed in 1984. She later married Gene Cote and he passed in 2005.
She was a former 4-H leader in Franklin County and a former member of the Mystic Valley Grange. She enjoyed her grandchildren, writing to hundreds of pen pals, reading, and gardening. She was especially fond of her cats.
She is survived by her daughters, Marjorie Kennedy of Dixfield and Cathy Jordan of Farmington; three grandchildren, Tyrene Child, Taja Walton, and July Miller; five great grandsons; and one great granddaughter. She was predeceased by a son-in-law, Montell Kennedy; a brother, Harold, sisters, Audrey and Gloria; and a grandson, Rodney Kennedy.
The family would like to thank the Rumford Community Home and Andwell Hospice and the team at the Hospice House for taking great care of Anne.

Graveside committal services will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 1 p.m. at the Maine Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Civic Center Drive, Augusta.
