Janice E. (Dillingham) Mills

NORWAY – Janice E. (Dillingham) Mills, 78, passed away on Friday Sept. 27, 2024, with her loving family by her side at Stephens Memorial Hospital, under the care of Beacon Hospice. She was born April 17, 1946, in Lewiston, a daughter of Nelson “Pedro” and Marion (Heath) Dillingham.

She attended school in Sumner and graduated from Buckfield High School in 1964, where she was a cheerleader all four years.

She worked at Paris MFG, Stowell Wood Products, Meacon and provided childcare.

Her greatest joy was being a wonderful mother and devoted grandmother. She always put the needs of others before her own, she truly was the most selfless, caring, and giving person. Her life was dedicated to her family. She cared for her parents needs in their later years. She shared a very special bond with her sister, Gloria. They were always there for one another.

She always attended all her children and grandchildren’s sports and other events. She enjoyed planning and hosting all family events and gatherings. Janice loved baking special birthday cakes, cookies, and sweets. She always knew everyone’s favorite treat.

Janice was a long-time member of the Snow Hoppers snowmobile club. She enjoyed reading, sudoku puzzles, dancing, shopping, and going to the ocean.

She was predeceased by her loving parents, Nelson and Marion Dillingham, brothers Ronald and Lenny Dillingham, her first husband Alan Farrington (divorced), and her second husband Richard Mills.

She is survived by her loving children; Randall Farrington (wife Anne), Rhonda Paine (husband Dan), Raymond Mills (wife Heather), Gary McAllister (wife Laurie), Lisa Mills-Brasslett, and Terri Mills. Her grandchildren Marissa Paine, Daniel Paine II, Adriana Mills, Alexander Mills, Matthew McAllister, Ethan McAllister, Brittany Hill (Corliss), Devon Corliss, and many nieces and nephews. Her siblings Gordon Dillingham, and Gloria Dillingham. She was also survived by her longtime companion of 42 years Charles McAllister.

In following Janice’s wishes, a graveside celebration of life will take place on Sunday Oct. 20, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Lakeside Cemetery in Bryant Pond.

The family would like to thank the staff at Stephens Memorial Hospital and Beacon Hospice for the excellent care of Janice.
