To the Editor:
Everyone is invited to visit the Museums of the Bethel Historical Society on Saturday, December 7, from 12-5 p.m. for our annual Christmas at the Mason House celebration and holiday open house. Enjoy light refreshments in the period rooms of the 1813 Dr. Moses and Agnes Straw Mason House, decorated in traditional mid-nineteenth century style and illuminated by candles. Seasonal music will be provided by fiddlers Pam Chodosh and Monica Mann (noon to 3 p.m.) and harpist Conni St. Pierre (3 to 5 p.m.). Please enter the Mason House through the barn door on Mason Street and follow the signs.
Next door in the Robinson House, the Museum Shop will be open all afternoon for holiday shopping and our second annual Holiday Bake Sale, featuring an array of homemade baked goods. The shop is ready to welcome you with a wonderful selection of books for children and adults, Maine-made gift items, and much more.
There is no charge for this annual event, but donations are always appreciated. We hope you can join us for a festive and traditional holiday celebration!

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
