William Waldo Worcester
HANOVER – William Waldo Worcester, 77, of Hanover, passed away Sunday, Nov. 24, 2024, at Togus VA Medical Center in Augusta. Born in Rumford on May 16, 1947, to Frank and Louise Worcester, William was the youngest of three children.
A Vietnam veteran, he worked as a dispatcher for the state police and retired as a customer service representative at Kelley’s Auto Parts. William was a quiet man who loved camping, fly fishing, hunting, and spending time with family. He married his best friend and wife of 51 years, Gail Ann Chase, and they were blessed with three sons: Daren, Brad, and Michael.
William was predeceased by his parents and brother, Clement Worcester. He is survived by his eldest brother, David Worcester; wife; children; daughters-in-law, Frances Berry-Worcester and Amanda Worcester (Lobley); grandchildren, Jett, Wyatt, Juliet, Chance, Avery, and Maddox; sister-in-law, Donna Worcester (Peare); nephew, Brian; and niece, Jenny Tirrell.
A loving father and grandfather, he was the family’s go-to person for advice on home projects, automobile maintenance, and small-engine repairs. He was always there to lend a helpful hand. He will be dearly missed.
A summer celebration of life will be scheduled for family and friends.
