PORTLAND — Dakota Warren netter a pair of goals and teammates Alanah Knox and Nadia Wesley found the back of the net once each as Buckfield held off Greater Portland Christian 4-2 in girls’ soccer action Monday.
Knox also registered a pair of assists for Buckfield, with Warren and Arrabine Dunn adding another helper each.
Robyn Waugh and Elaine Beech added a goal each for GPC, with Waugh also earning an assist.
Gabby Theriault recorded seven saves in the cage for Buckfield, while Clarissa Jones stopped 16 for the hosts in the loss.
St. Dom’s 4, Mtn. Valley 0
RUMFORD — Four different players scored goals and Marley Byrne turned back 13 shots to register the shutout as St. Dom’s rolled to a 4-0 victory over Mountain Valley in an MVC soccer matchup Monday.
Kayla McLellan, Kelley McLellan, Courtney Costello and Dayle Jordan all scored for the Saints (11-3-0), while Kayla McLellan and Sarah Trott added assists.
Caitlin Armstrong stopped 14 shots for the Falcons (4-9-1), who kept even with the Saints in shots (12-12) and corners (8-7, St. Dom’s), but couldn’t find the back of the cage.
Hall-Dale 4, Winthrop 0
FARMINGDALE — Carylanne Wolfington registered a hat trick, including two in a three-goal second half, and Maura Stottler added another tally for Hall-Dale as the Bulldogs earned a 4-0 victory over Winthrop in MVC girls’ soccer action Monday.
Wolfington also assisted on Stottler’s tally, and Megan Cope stopped seven shots to record the shutout.
Winthrop’s Danielle Pease was busy in net, stopping 20 shots in her direction. The Ramblers fall to 1-13 on the season, while Hall-Dale improves to 10-4.
Boys’ soccer
Brunswick 7, Edward Little 0
AUBURN — Edward Little held Brunswick’s offense to only 16 shots, but it didn’t matter much as the Dragons took advantage of their set plays and timely chances to defeat the Red Eddies 7-0 in KVAC soccer action Monday.
Konnor Scarponi netted a pair of goals for Brunswick (6-3-4), while Jimmy Kenyon, Mich Black, Ryan Black, Seth Holmblad and Dylan Towle also scored.
Ben Bowles stopped six shots in better than a half of work, while Mike Cote made two saves in relief for the Red Eddies (4-8-1).
Lisbon 10, Winthrop 0
WINTHROP — Ryan Fairbanks added to his gaudy goal-scoring numbers with four more Monday night and added a pair of assists as well to lead Lisbon to a 10-0 victory over Winthrop in MVC boys’ soccer action.
Morgan Reeves also chalked up a pair of goals for the Greyhounds (10-2-1). Aaron Halls, Mason Smith, Kyle Whitman and goalie Shane Tanguay all notched a goal, with Tanguay’s coming on a penalty kick. Fairbanks and Justin Grant added a pair of assists each and Tanguay stopped one shot to collect the shutout.
Caleb MacMillan made eight saves in the loss for Winthrop (1-11-1).
Buckfield 8, Valley 3
BINGHAM — Trevor Averill led Buckfield with four goals, Austin Dooley added two more and Luiz Guillenne and Jacob Bailey added one each as the Bucks dispatched Valley 8-3 in an EWC soccer battle Monday.
Dustin Damon and Cody Barker each added three assists to the winning cause, and Calvin Downey stopped seven shots to earn the victory.
Carrington Miller netted a pair of goals in the loss for the Cavaliers, while Stone Ellis also scored.
Poland 1, Traip 0
Logan Nichols converted on a feed from Jacob Littlefield 1:41 into the first half to lift Poland to a 1-0 win over Traip in WMC soccer action Monday.
Dillon Douglass recorded six saves in the cage for the Knights (4-10), as they outshot the Rangers 21-11.
