Carol Plante

RUMFORD – Carol Plante, 75, went to be with her Lord on Jan. 2, 2025. She was a resident of Franklin Street in Rumford.

Carol was born in Rumford, Maine on Oct. 29, 1949, and was a daughter of Ronaldo and Bertha (Quirion) Drouin and Esther Drouin. She was a graduate of Stephens High School in Rumford. She was a front-end clerk at Hannaford’s in Rumford, a job which she truly enjoyed her coworkers and her customers. She enjoyed playing cards, especially cribbage, and spending time with her family.

Carol was married in Rumford on Nov. 28, 2009, to Matthew Plante who died in Rumford on Jan. 13, 2011.

Carol is survived by her sons, Jason Capponi of Carthage and Aaron Capponi and wife Colleen of Pennsylvania; grandchildren Alaina, Rocco, Erick, and Dustin; a great grandson, Atlas; a sister Jeanne Duguay of Rumford and a brother Gary Drouin and companion Janet of Florida. She was predeceased by her husband Matthew; her father Ronaldo Drouin and her mothers, Bertha and Esther Drouin.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday Jan. 18, 2025, at the Parish of The Holy Savior St Athanasius St John Church, 126 Maine Ave in Rumford. Interment will be at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Augusta.
