LEWISTON — A Mass of Christian burial honoring the life of Pauline Gardner was celebrated by Monsignor Marc Caron Monday at Holy Family Church of the Prince of Peace Parsh. During the service, Pauline’s granddaughter, Sarah Gardner proclaimed the first reading. The offertory gifts were brought to the altar by Pauline’s nephew, Gerry Gardner and his wife, Pauline. Words of remembrance were shared by Pauline’s daughters, Patricia Morgan and Nancy Smith. At the conclusion of Mass, the United States Army Honor Detail played “taps” and presented our country’s flag to Pauline’s husband, Dr. Camille Gardner for his wife’s service to our country during World War II. The urn bearers were Pauline’s grandchildren, Sarah and Laura Morgan and Daniel and Caitlin Morgan. Also serving as family Bible bearer was granddaughter, Shannon Morgan. Following the military honors at church all were invited to a reception of fellowship at Marco’s Restaurant in Lewiston. The following day committal prayers were recited by U.S. Army Chaplin Valomar Vigue at the Maine Veterans’ Cemetery in Augusta to conclude Pauline’s funeral services. Arrangements by the Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home.
