Georgia L. Hersey
FAYETTE – Georgia L. Hersey, 90, of Fayette, formerly of Livermore Falls, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2025, at her daughter’s home in Fayette, where she had been living. She was born Nov. 29, 1934, in Rumford, the daughter of Dwight Lamb and Gertrude (Perrin) Lamb. She was a 1954 graduate of Livermore Falls High School. On Sept. 30, 1960, at St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay, she married Thomas E. Hersey. They enjoyed 50 years together before his passing on May 5, 2011. Georgia worked as a homemaker and cosmetologist. She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church, a CCD teacher and Eucharistic minister. She was also a member of the Daughters of Isabella. She is survived by her daughters, Alicia Brown (Dan) of Fayette, Celeste LeBlond (Larry) of Jay and Dolores Schudrowitz (Casimir) of Grand Forks, N.D.; five grandchildren, Allan-Michael Flagg, Kayla Tibbetts, Willie Brown, Kyle Henningsgard, and Quinlan Schudrowitz; three great-grandchildren, Cole, Brooks, and Baylee Georgia, her brother George Lamb (Erlene) of Wilton, two very special nieces, Kerry Conard and Leslie Landry, several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, grandson, Dwight Allan Flagg, sisters Alice Baker, Clara Landry and brother, Dwight Lamb Jr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, February 11, at ST. ROSE OF LIMA CHURCH, 1 Church Street, Jay. Visitation from 10-11 a.m., at the church prior to the service. Interment in the spring at Goding-Lamb Cemetery, Goding Road, Livermore, Maine. Arrangements by FINLEY FUNERAL HOME, 15 Church Street, Livermore Falls, Maine.
