OXFORD – Elaine Claire (Seilonen) Lorrain of Oxford, passed away on Feb. 24, 2025, after a long illness. She was born May 26, 1939, to Helen and Eino Seilonen and had five siblings. She grew up in Bolsters Mills, and attended local schools. She was married to Allen Lorrain, who he later divorced and predeceased her. She is survived by son William Lorrain of Oxford, daughter Tammy Googins and husband David of Fayetteville, N.C., son Tony Lorrain and wife Kim of Harrison, son Timothy Lorrain and wife Joanne of Waterford.
She is also survived by one brother John Seilonen of Norway; 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Her favorite vacation spot was in Winter Harbour where she would go with various family members and best friend Nancy Lincoln who predeceased her. For many years it became a family tradition.
Over the years, Elaine worked as a care worker for many different families including the Nutting’s, Kneeland’s and Dennison’s. She also worked for Community Concepts as a driver taking people to their appointments. She loved taking care of people.
A celebration of life will be held at the Casco Community Center, Meadow Road, Casco on Thursday February 27, at 1 p.m., with Rev. Dave Patterson officiating.
