Robert L. “Bob” “Bubba” Godin
CANTON – Robert L. “Bob” “Bubba” Goding, 79, of Canton, passed away Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Pinnacle Health & Rehab in Canton, following several years of declining health.
He was born on Jan. 26, 1946, in Sunderland, England, the son of Ralph Goding and Florence (McLaurie) Goding. He was a graduate of Dirigo High School in Dixfield. Bob proudly served in the U.S. Air Force, retiring as a Master Seargent after over 20 years of serving his country. Following his military career, he owned and operated Ralph’s Cash Market in Canton.
On Oct. 20, 1990, in Canton, he married Glenda Russell of Dixfield. Bob was a life member of the Amvets Post 33 in Jay, where he dedicated his time as financial officer, a member of the honor guard and helped with the Special Olympics. He was also a member of the Rumford American Legion and was a member in good standing at Kora Temple since 1996. Bob loved traveling and enjoyed hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Glenda Goding; his son, Robert L. Goding, Jr, daughter, Sandra L. Goding; grandchildren, Catherine A. Goding and Ian X. Goding; stepson, Allen Noyes and wife Lisa; step-grandchildren, David Noyes and wife Jessica, Russell Noyes and wife Tanya, Joshua Noyes and wife Rosie and Shawn Noyes; step-great-grandchildren, Chelsea Noyes, Mason Noyes, Kalob Noyes, Shawn Noyes, Jr., and Jaxon Noyes. He was predeceased by his parents, infant son and daughter twins, and daughter, Julie Lynn Goding and stepson, David Lee Noyes.
Funeral service with full military honors will be held at 12 p.m., Thursday, March 6th at FINLEY FUNERAL HOME, 15 Church Street, Livermore Falls, Maine. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Members of the military organization will meet at the funeral home at 11:30 a.m. Interment Pine Grove Cemetery, Canton, Maine at a later date.
