Lucy S. Morin

RUMFORD – Lucy S. Morin, 88, passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. She was a long-time resident of Rumford and most recently a resident of Montello Heights Retirement Community.

Lucy was born in Middleboro, Mass. on July 20, 1936, the daughter of Norman and Lucille (Crofton) Stark. She was valedictorian of Winterport High School class of 1955 and Husson College class of 1957. She worked as a secretary for Dow Air Force Base in Bangor and then later for Dr. John Egan for several years.

She was a communicant of the Parish of the Holy Savior St. Athanasius and St. John Church. She was a member of the Polio Support Group of Maine, New England Historical Genealogical Society, served as Cub Scout leader coach and was secretary for the community concerts. She enjoyed knitting, crafts, sewing, reading, bird watching, puzzles and spending time with her family.

Lucy was married in Bangor on Dec. 30, 1958, to LTC Joseph Morin, CRNA who passed away in Auburn on Sept. 13, 2016.

Survivors include her daughters Janice Clohosey and husband Edward of Coral Springs, Fla. and Diane Roberts and husband Gregory of South Paris, sons Michael Morin and wife Lorie of Lewiston and Robert Morin and wife Renee of Wells; grandchildren Jason, Matthew and Ryan Clohosey, Daniel Dore and Kayla McGee, Nicole Roberts, Thomas Carr, Michael Morin, Jr., Katie, Nicole, Dale and Gregory Morin, Lily Mendonca and Alison Wark; sisters Joan Pier of Columbus, Ga. and Patricia Stark of White River Junction, Vt.; as well as 19 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 15, at 11 a.m. at the Parish of the Holy Savior, 126 Maine Ave. in Rumford. Interment will be at St. Ignasius Cemetery in Sanford at a later date. Family and friends may attend visitation on Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m at Meader and Son Funeral Home, 3 Franklin St., Rumford.
