Michael F. Barrett

LEWISTON – Michael F. Barrett of Lewiston passed away on Monday March 3, 2025 at St. Mary’s D’Youville Pavilion surrounded by family and an amazing nursing staff. For many years he fought Parkinsons and Dementia until it got the best of him.

He was born in Berlin, N.H. on Nov. 14, 1940 to Arthur Barrett and Mildred Morse Farnsworth. He was a graduate of Gorham, N.H. He joined the Drum and Bugle Corp for his love of music where he soon met the love of his life, Louise A. Barrett of Lewiston. They married on May 25, 1963 and moved to the Portland area for a short time to raise two loving boys. In 1986 they moved to Lewiston and made Lewiston their home.

He loved music and spent many years singing and entertaining with “Just Us”. He also enjoyed photography, making people smile and his family. He worked many different jobs but he is known for Mr. B the Driver’s Ed Instructor at Roy’s Driving Academy where he taught for over 25 years.

He was predeceased by his parents; his son, Ryan Barrett; brother, William Barrett and brother, Chuck Barrett.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Louise A. Barrett; son, Michael B. Barrett and his wife Janice of Auburn; granddaughter, Amber Barrett Thompson and her husband Timothy of Georgia; great-grandchildren Brendan and Leia.

A celebration of life will be held on March 17, at Funeral Alternatives, 25 Tampa St., Lewiston from 4 to 6 p.m.
