“Sign, sign, everywhere a sign

Blockin’ out the scenery, breakin’ my mind

Do this, don’t do that, can’t you read the sign?” — Les Emmerson

That song seems fitting as there certainly are plenty of campaign signs to read in Lewiston.

It seems some of the candidates have taken the sign thing to a new level. The word “excess” definitely comes to mind. Then again, excess and government tend to go hand in hand.

I must thank Mark Paradis for keeping his sign count to a reasonable number and on private property. His campaign was even clever enough to make his signs taller than the field of signs around them so they stand out.

As an Auburn resident, I am on the outside, but I would say it’s no wonder why he stands out from the rest of the candidates as the right choice for Lewiston.
