DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Andwell Hospice Thrift Stores are recruiting volunteers specifically for our new Waterville store and we are always looking for our other stores in Auburn and Augusta.

Do you have spare time in your schedule and want to volunteer by giving back to your community with an organization that has an amazing mission? Would you like to interact with wicked cool people and love everything about thrifting? We’ve got just the place for you!

There are volunteer opportunities not only at our Waterville location at 180 Main St., but also at our store in Auburn at 245 Center St., and at our store in Augusta at 165 Capitol St.

Opportunities include sorting, processing, cleaning and pricing all donations. Volunteers also process clothing and other soft goods by drying, pricing and displaying clothing on the sales floor.

We also need volunteers who will work with “Square” point of sale cash at the register and be responsible for ringing up items, and cash reconciliation. Excellent customer service skills are required for these opportunities.

Volunteers are asked to commit to at least one four-hour shift, once a week. The hours of operation at the Waterville store are Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to  4 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.

When we have more volunteers, we’ll extend our hours to include and match the hours at the Auburn and Augusta stores on Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and n Thursday for an additional two hours so the hours will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

If you are interested in joining our team, please email [email protected] and [email protected]. Thank you for your continued support of our organization and our volunteers! – Jenny, no town

ANSWER: The Andwell Hospice Thrift Stores provide communities with a wonderful shopping experience with reasonably priced items. Net proceeds go to uninsured and underinsured hospice patients who are under the care of Andwell Health Partners, formerly Androscoggin Home Healthcare + Hospice.

The stores offer a wonderful shopping experience as items are meticulously curated and displayed. Check it out!
