LEWISTON — Bene’s Beef is coming to the former El Pochos location at 990 Lisbon St. New chef and owner TJ Castiello is bringing Boston’s famous North Shore roast beef sandwiches and fresh cut French fries cooked in beef tallow to Lewiston.

Renovations are fully underway and images of the interior are posted on Instagram along with half a dozen updates. No specific date is mentioned but Bene’s says it plans to open in June.

The North Shore roast beef sandwich is traditionally thin-cut, rare roast beef, typically served on an onion bun with mayonnaise, James River barbeque sauce and American cheese — known as the “3-Way.”
