
RANGELEY – New seating at Lakeside Theater was in the process of being installed Tuesday, May 6. The upgrade is taking place just in time the start of Rangeley Friends of the Art’s 57th season of art programming, which begins Friday, May 23.
Work began several weeks ago in anticipation of the delivery. After the 153 old, worn and in disrepair theater seats were removed, the theater floor was stripped and resurfaced.
The delivery arrived late Monday evening from Texas, RFA Executive Director Diane Bellington said.

By noon on Tuesday, the installation of the arm rests was underway.
Funding for the project was gathered over the last two years through fundraising and a grant from the Davis Family Foundation, Bellington said.
Chair Plaques are a great way to make a lasting and personalized contribution to RFA. Permanent custom engraved plaques are an option for Bravo Partner donations of $500 or Standing Ovation Partner of $1,000.
Future projects include improvements to the sound system, and soundproofing an area musicians to accompany productions. These projects will bring a true theater experience to the theater.

RFA will host an Artist Reception at Lakeside Contemporary Gallery, May 23, 5:30 – 7 p.m., The exhibit celebrates the works of Gabrielle Castle’s award winning portraits and Sonja Johnsons illustrations. The event will be narrated by Tim Straub. The exhibit will continue through July 8.
