Alan “Scott” Mason Sr.
RUMFORD – If you are reading this then you just missed Alan “Scott” Mason Sr. going 100 MPH through the gates of heaven in his black, 1969 Dodge Monaco! He was born on May 26, 1960, and was called to heaven unexpectedly on March 22, 2025.
Scott was born in Rumford and attended Bethel area schools. He was a talented mechanic, a hard-working logger and a business owner (Clydesdale Logging and Garage/ Junk Yard/ Junk MD).
Scott is remembered for his unconditional love, incredible selflessness, and a passion to help others. Some knew him for his BIG muscles, always having a hug in his pocket, and the guy that could burn so much rubber you couldn’t see anything but a cloud of smoke. He had an infectious laugh, was an incredible storyteller, and had a great appreciation for animals and nature. He was an avid race fan and a collector of cool, old car parts.
Scott is survived by his siblings, Chuck Mason and wife Kathy, Carole Mason and husband Brad McLain, and Melinda Bishop and husband Matthew; children, Scott Jr., Jana, Stephanie and son-in-law Al, Naomi and husband Randy, Marcus, Michael, Kara, Breanna and Wesley.
He is also survived by grandchildren, Logan, Devin, Haiven, Tresdon, Korynn, Samantha, Tyler, Averie, Allie-Rae, Andrew, Draven, Feliciti-Love, Morgan, Wyatt, Caleb, Abbie, Gypsy, Owen, Kai Alan and Zaura Alayna; 15 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and best friends, Jeff, Ronnie and Mickey
He was predeceased by his parents, Charles Mason Sr. and Ruthetta Murphy Mason Bishop; sister Terri Lea Blake and brother David Mason.
