Raymond Reginald Lombard
ORMOND BEACH, Fla. – It is with great sadness that the family of Raymond “Ray” Lombard announce his passing on April 26, 2025 at the age of 83, surrounded by his loving family.
Ray was born on Feb. 14, 1942 in Lewiston, to Reginald and Lauretta Lombard. After graduating from St. Dominic Academy, Ray attended Maine Maritime Academy, where he began his lifelong love of boating and the water. After graduating with a B.S. in Accounting from USM and an MBA from the University of Maine, Ray went on to become a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), college professor, entrepreneur and real estate investor.
A devout Catholic, Ray was a parishioner of St. Joseph in Bridgton and Prince of Peace in Ormond Beach, Fla. where he was also a member of the choir.
Ray loved serving his community, having held the position of Police Commissioner for Lewiston for several years. He was also a lifetime member and Chancellor of the Knights of Columbus Council 11376, holding the distinguished special honor of the title “Sir Knight” (Fourth Degree).
A lover of animals and the outdoors, he found joy in the simple pleasures. He enjoyed spending time with family, bicycling, golfing, and was an avid hiker in his younger years.
Ray spent much of his later years between Maine, Florida and the Bahamas, where he was involved in various non-profit organizations, including the Good Shepherd and the Abaco Animal Shelter where he adopted his Potcake dogs Peanut and Abby.
A devoted husband, proud father, loving grandfather, loyal friend, businessman and animal advocate, Ray will be remembered as a kind and gentle soul, whose warmth and compassion left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He found joy in music and developed his life-long love for the drums during his time in the Pine Tree Warriors Drum and Bugle Corps in Lewiston. Ray loved to travel and was always up for a spontaneous adventure, cross-country trip or motorcycle ride. He was never far from the dance floor and he never missed an opportunity to sing one of his many favorite Frank Sinatra songs. He will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know him.
Ray is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Diane Lombard; children, Ryan Lombard, Heather Lombard, Kim McKellar, Ananda Kalyan and Mike McKellar; sister, Jackie Tayman; grandchildren, Aliah Connolly, Sadie Fischbeck, Isaiah Connolly, Zain Connolly and Wyatt McKellar; former wife, Linda Lombard, and numerous other friends and family members around the world.
