Marie Marthe Jewett

AUBURN – Marie Marthe Jewett, 92, of Lewiston, passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2025 at Andwell Hospice House, Auburn. She was the wife of the late Joseph O. Lagasse, the father of her children, and the late Elmond Jewett.

Marie was born on May 28, 1932, the daughter of the late Ernest and Nathalie Morin in Saint David Maine She is survived by her three children, Anita Kramarz (Gary), Norma LaChance (Mike), Onile (Pricsilla Miller), sisters-in-law Cecile Bosse and Edigna Morin.

She was also the sister of the late, Sylvio, Bernadette Collins, Ernestine Boone and Gilbert.

She went on to marry Elmond Jewett, who was a great travel partner and enjoyed looking at the scenery as much as Mom did.

Although she struggled with asthma most of her life it never stopped her from doing what she wanted to do. She shoveled snow, mowed the lawn, took up bowling, even attempted to water ski. She worked at various mills and shoe shops but when she got the job at GE she stayed there until retirement.

Mom could be tough on us kids, but she was always fair. She loved her family and all of the friends she met along the way.

Relatives and Friends are invited to a visitation on Thursday, May 29, 2025, from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m., at The Fortin and Pinette Group, 217 Turner Street, Auburn. A funeral service will occur Friday, May 30, 2025, at 12 p.m., at the Funeral Home, followed by committal prayers at St Peter Cemetery, Lewiston.
