DURHAM – Gregory A. Fortin, 59, passed away unexpectedly on May 24, 2025. He was born in Hartford, Conn. on March 27, 1966 to Herman and Carolyn (Crooker) Fortin. He moved to Maine as a child and grew up in Durham.
He was an avid outdoorsman and spent many days hunting and fishing. Most of his working years were spent doing roofing and siding where he had a reputation for being a perfectionist. He took great pride in his work and was known for always doing an excellent job. One of his greatest enjoyments was spending time with his son and grandchildren. He was very proud of all of them.
He was predeceased by his father; his brother Kenneth; and his nephew Kenneth II. He leaves behind his life partner Karen Hlister; his son Christopher and his wife LeAnne; his grandchildren Nevaeh, Aiden, Domenic and Carly; his mother Carolyn Nadeau; brother Jeffery and his wife Deborah, sister Marilyn Dwinal and her husband Robert; and several nieces and nephews.
Though he sometimes faced struggles in his life he always found a way to keep going. He is now at peace and will forever be loved and missed by all who knew him.
