Ronald G. Ouellette

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Ronald G. Ouellette, 76, formerly of Lewiston, passed away Jan. 2, 2025, in Naperville, Ill. He was born in Lewiston, the eldest child of Alphee and Geneva (Charette) Ouellette. Ron was a graduate of St. Dominic’s High School and the University of Maine, Orono. Ron married his high school sweetheart Nancy Castonguay on August 24, 1968, celebrating 56 years of marriage before his passing.

After college, Ron worked in the telecommunications industry in Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts, before making a career home at Telcordia Technologies Learning Center in Lisle, Ill. After retiring as Managing Director of the Center in 2003, Ron enjoyed dining out and travelling with Nancy, and time spent with family.

Despite a demanding career, he always made time to coach and referee the kids’ sports and direct school projects. A lifelong reader, learner, and teacher, he stayed current on the latest technology and shared his knowledge with others. Ron will be remembered for his quick wit, appreciation of a good pun, and love of Sam’s Italians.

Surviving are his wife Nancy and their children Elaine Ducharme of Richmond, Va., Steve Ouellette (Jenny) of Aurora, Ill., and Lisa Wallner of Mason, Ohio; his grandchildren, Tyler and Mackenzie Ouellette and Cooper Wallner; his three sisters Connie Catanese (Frank) of Cape Coral, Fla., Joanne Lord of Lewiston, and Joline Lake (Mike) of Murphy, N.C.

Online condolences and fond memories may be shared on Ron’s memorial page at http://www.albert-burpee.com.

Nancy and children, and sisters Joanne Lord and Connie Catanese, will hold visitation for Maine friends and family on Monday, June 16, from 6-8 p.m., at Albert & Burpee Funeral Home, 253 Pine Street, Lewiston.
