RANGELEY — After many years on hiatus, WRGY is bringing back “A Mountain Home Companion Variety Show”. Join us at the Rangeley Friends of the Arts Lakeside Theater for one performance only, Sunday, July 6 at 6 p.m., to benefit WRGY Radio. Emcees Tim Straub and Iris Ramirez will guide us through this entertaining evening filled with local talent, homegrown in the Western Mountains of Rangeley, Maine.
This live cavalcade of entertainment will include the triumphant return of WRGY’s foot-stomping house band, Mason Strunk, Sam McMillan and Duncan Stuard. We will take a refreshing dip into Rangeley’s past with treasured stories from Bill Pierce and Wanda Ferguson, skits from Tim Straub, and the original poetry of our very own Sidney Wade as she takes us on a mindful walk through our beloved Rangeley region.
We will climb to see new vistas through the talents of Noah Greenlaw and his mesmerizing poi performance, as well as witness Sonja Johnson’s in-time painting live on stage as the evening progresses. Maybe you will be the lucky audience member selected to bring the painting home. Is it an oxymoron to say, “Expect surprises”?
Your ticket will include a hat or a tote bag, and other local fun treats, and it also comes with a drink, as well as other surprises. Please join all of us from WRGY for a wonderful night to remember. Tickets are available online at www.rangeleyarts.org, or at the theater during business hours. Your support gives our community a voice worth listening to.
