Claire Mottram

LEWISTON – Claire McClintick Livergood Mottram passed in her sleep at d’Youville Pavilion in Lewiston. She was 95.

Born in 1930 to William Randolph McClintick and Emily Medeiros McClintick in Boston, Massachusetts. Claire grew up in Maine and graduated from Edward Little HS in Auburn. She married Leslie Charles Livergood on September 6, 1948 and was happily married until he passed on July 11, 1956. Five years later she met and married Roger Wallace Mottram on August 12, 1961. Roger passed away on January 25, 2020.

Claire built her life around her family. She loved swimming, traveling with her daughters, visiting her grandchildren and playing in her weekly card game with her sisters and brother. In her younger years she loved piloting small planes.

Claire is survived by her daughters Sally Darnell, Sylvia Heath and Irene Yaws. Three grandchildren Ronald Heath and his wife Beth, Sheree Bowman and her husband Michael, and Ellic Mottram and his wife Amanda. Five great-grandchildren, Lauren, Amelia, Wade, Aerland and Caia. Two sisters, Virginia Field of Connecticut and Betty Gauthier of Massachusetts. Many nephews and nieces.

Claire was predeceased by her parents. Two brothers Wilbur and George McClintick, two sisters, Thelma Lever and Mary Babbitt, and two great-sons, Joseph and Edward Heath.

A graveside service will be held later this month. Arrangements are under the care of Chandler Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, 26 W. Dwinal St., Mechanic Falls. Online condolences may be shared with her family at http://www.chandlerfunerals.com
