Joanne Marie Rose Landry

LEWISTON – Joanne Marie Rose Landry, 81, of Lewiston, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on Nov. 1, 1943, in Lewiston to Marty and Elsie Poulin, Joanne was the cherished daughter of a close-knit family, growing up alongside her three brothers and one sister. Joanne was blessed to have a half-sister as well, further enriching her family connections.

Joanne’s life was defined by love, laughter, and bringing people together. She met her beloved husband, Gerry Landry, and together they built a beautiful life over 62 years of marriage. They raised five children, John Landry and wife Barbara, Sandy Dubuc and husband Donald Dubuc, Jim Landry and wife Sandy Landry, Kerry Landry, and Jason Landry and wife Sadie Landry. Joanne was a devoted mother whose warmth and humor touched the lives of her 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, who will carry her love forward.

After raising their family, Joanne and Gerry embraced a life of adventure and leisure, spending over 25 years traveling, golfing, and wintering in Florida. Whether at their Litchfield camp, their Maine home, or their Florida retreat, Joanne was the heart of every gathering. Known as the “glue” that united family and friends, she created countless memories filled with joy, laughter, and togetherness. One of her famous sayings was “It’s just a phase,” and reminded everyone to find perspective and stay resilient through life’s ups and downs.

Joanne’s legacy as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

A visitation for Joanne will be held on Wednesday, July 9, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. as well as 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at The Fortin & Pinette Group, 305 Alfred A. Plourde Parkway, Lewiston, ME 04240. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 10, at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Church with Committal Prayers to follow at St. Peter Cemetery.
