Lauren Michelle Odiorne

LEWISTON – Lauren Michelle Odiorne, 48, of Lewiston, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Maine Medical Center. Her final days were filled with expressions of love by those who meant the most to her.

Born in Portland on April 26, 1977, Lauren spent most of her life in Lewiston. She attended local schools, graduating from Lewiston High School in 1995 before earning her degree from the University of Maine at Farmington. Lauren went on to work at Bernard’s School of Hair Fashion as the Campus Resource Coordinator until its closure. Her generous heart, quiet strength, and surprising wit touched the lives of the students she worked with and everyone who met her.

Lauren’s compassion for both people and pets will remain a lasting part of her legacy. Her love for animals led to years of meaningful work with the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society, where she began as a volunteer and later joined the staff. What started with the adoption of her beloved soul dog, Daisy Loo, became a passion for helping pets find homes – or the support they needed to stay with the families who loved them.

Over the years, Lauren faced many health challenges, including more than nine years on dialysis. Yet through it all, she remained unwaveringly herself – resilient, positive, and full of gratitude for those who cared for her. Her strength and grace were a constant inspiration to her care teams and loved ones alike.

She is survived by her parents, Lorraine and Richard Gadway Sr. of Lisbon; her sister, Shannon Martin and husband Drew of Lewiston; and the family’s beloved pets. She will remain cherished by many, including extended family, lifelong friends, and the community she built through every stage of her life.

A private period of mourning will be observed by her family, with arrangements to be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, her family requests that donations be made in Lauren’s honor to the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society at 55 Strawberry Avenue, Lewiston, ME. More information is available at savingpetsinmaine.org/give/.
