Leonard John Adler

OTISFIELD – Lenny Adler passed away on July 10, 2025, he was the son of Carl and Lillian Adler. He was born on July 31, 1944, in Clinton, Mass. Lenny graduated from Weymouth High School in 1962 and Franklin Technical Institute in Boston in 1964. He moved to Otisfield, in 1964, which he loved as a child. He would come up from Mass. every summer.

Lenny started a long career in automotive repair, he was a teacher, and an employee at Ripley and Fletcher’s until his retirement. He then ran his own repair shop in Otisfield for many years. He was a resident of Otisfield for 61 years.

Lenny served on the Otisfield Fire Department from 1965 until his passing, serving many roles from Fire Chief to Lieutenant. Lenny served the town he loved through the years, his many roles included Road Commissioner, Health Officer, and more than 50 years as a Selectman.

Lenny’s passion for antique autos was known by all, and over the years formed a large collection of cars which he loved to share at any car show he could attend.

Lenny is survived by his son, James, and wife, Jessica Adler of Andover; daughter, Melinda and husband, Chris Porter of Skowhegan; daughter, Susan and husband, Jerome Fluellen of Reading, Pa.; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Lenny was loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

There will be a funeral service on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at 11:30 a.m., at the Spurr’s Corner Station of Otisfield Fire Department; 994 Rt. 121 in Otisfield.
