Donna Lea Baril
AUBURN – Donna Lea Baril, 81, passed away peacefully at Andwell Hospice House in Auburn, July 12, 2025.
Donna attended high school in Westbrook. After moving to Lewiston years later, she worked in various shoe shops including Knapp Shoe, Hallowell Shoe, and Eastland Shoe in Freeport, while raising her three children, Kevin, Bruce, and Darlene. She also enjoyed helping people and donated her time at Salvation Army and Good Shepard Food Bank.
Donna married the love of her life, Leo Baril, on Aug. 29, 1976. They were married 44 years before his passing in November 2020. They had such a strong love and bond that will undoubtedly continue for eternity.
She enjoyed music, animals, and most especially spending time with her family. Donna had a stroke in 2005 that left her unable to express herself the way she intended. Throughout this time though she often enjoyed singing childhood songs with her sister, Rosemary Libby, and always remembered all the words as she sang.
She will be very deeply missed by her children, Darlene Edwards, Kevin Field, and Bruce Field; and her many grandchildren; and great-grandchildren; her sisters Rosemary Libby (and husband Huard Libby) and Roselyn Day.
She was predeceased by her parents Gloria Gagnon (Towle) and Roland Day; her brother, Sonny Day; and her forever loving husband, Leo Baril.
A funeral and celebration of life will be held in the very near future. You will be loved, and missed, and cherished forever, Gram.
