Lorraine (Gellatly) Galgano

POLAND – On June 21, 2025, Lorraine Gellatly Galgano lost her valiant battle with pancreatic cancer.

She was born on Feb. 2, 1967, in Quincy, Mass., the daughter of Edna (Judkins) and Norman Gellatly. In 1968, her family moved to Maine, where Lorraine attended Auburn schools and graduated from Edward Little High School in 1985.

Lorraine was the life of the party, known for her outgoing spirit, warmth, and creativity. She was artistic, down-to-earth, deeply caring, and above all, a phenomenal mother. She took immense pride in her children’s accomplishments and cherished her role as their biggest supporter.

Despite facing many challenges in life, Lorraine never gave up. She continued to care for her loved ones with strength and determination, right up to the end. Knowing her time was limited, she helped plan a beautiful celebration of life last August at Lost Valley, surrounded by friends and family.

In her final year, Lorraine was lovingly cared for by her sister, Evawn, with whom she lived. Her partner, Mike Day, stood faithfully by her side with love and support. Lorraine is deeply missed by all who knew her. Her family takes comfort in believing this is not a final goodbye, but rather a reunion with her beloved late son, Bryce.

She is survived by her parents; stepmother, Debora; daughters Brandi (Mike) and Bailey (Caleb), son, Brett (Shannon); and seven grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Evawn (David) Young, Douglas Gellatly, and Margaret (Ryan) Gellatly; as well as stepsiblings Melanie Gould, Justin Gould, and Alyssa (Mark) Dumond.

Burial services will be private.
