RANGELEY — The Rangeley Child Care Center is proud to announce that it has been awarded a Tax Increment Financing (TIF) grant to help make high-quality child care more affordable for families living in the unorganized territories (UT) surrounding the Rangeley region.
This funding will provide tuition supplements for eligible families, effective upon the opening of the new center. Families who can verify residency in the UT will qualify for support. The tuition supplements are designed to align with the state’s Child Care Affordability Program (CCAP) benefits, ensuring that families on the CCAP waitlist can still access assistance until their state benefits begin.
“Our mission is to make child care accessible for every family in our region, and this TIF grant is a huge step toward that goal,” according to George Bernstein, board vice chair for of the Rangeley Child Care Center. “Families in the unorganized territories often face unique challenges in accessing services, and this support will make a real difference.”
The Rangeley Child Care Center, scheduled to open in early October, will provide licensed, high-quality curriculum-based care for children in a safe and nurturing environment. The Center will not only support working families but also contribute to the long-term economic vitality of the Rangeley region by helping parents participate fully in the workforce.
