AUBURN – Fred McKay, 94 of Lewiston-Auburn, passed away Friday, Sept. 5, 2025.
Born in Norway on Jan. 14, 1931, the youngest son of Clyde and Ida McKay (Paquette). He graduated from Norway High School and served as Navy Fireman First Class during the Korean War where he performed duties as part of his ship’s engineering department.
After his Naval discharge he enjoyed a long career as an oil burner technician, living and caring for his family primarily in the Farmington area. Later in life he moved to Lewiston-Auburn. Fred enjoyed time with family, hunting, fishing, travel, a good joke and breakfast outings.
He is survived by son Larry (Fred II); granddaughter Amy; grandson-in-law Larry; and great grandchildren Alexa, Mason and Harrison. He was preceded in death by his wife, of over sixty years, Phyllis, and children Rodney Pike and Andrea Pike.
The family plans to hold a small private service (at a time and place not yet determined).
